THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO AUTOMATED ONLINE INCOMEBy: Noah SeversAbout this guide: This guide is meant to be completed in steps. Using all the tools referenced in this guide, getting setup should be a fairly quick and straightforward process. However, once you have websites set up you will still need to spend considerable effort in promotion, and setting up new sites. There is always more to be done, and the level of income you receive, will most likely reflect the level of work you put in. With proper effort, a sustainable income equal or greater then a regular full time job can be realized. If you already have a website, you can skip to step two. If you already have a website and already part of the Google Adsense program, then skip to step three. There are two schools of passive online income. One is from online advertising through pay per click or other mechanisms, and the other is through the selling of intangible products, or tangible products that are never handled directly by the distributor (drop shipping). In this guide, we will discuss both methods. The amount you get paid is a reflection of the price people are paying Google to run the ad. Generally this price per click will fall in the realm of 25 cents to 5 dollars for a single click. If a lot of people are trying to sell a product or service that is relevant to your content, one click will pay your closer to 5 dollars (possibly more). Consequently, if you are successful in getting 1000 visitors to your website per day, and ten percent click on a Google ad, you can reasonably expect to make anywhere between 25 and 500 dollars in any given day. With an average of 200 dollars a day multiplied by 30 days, you would be making approximately 6,000 dollars a month! Obviously, most websites make a lot less then this, however if you work at it, in a short period of time 1000 dollars a month, every month, wouldn't be an unreasonable figure. The best part is your earnings only get bigger in time as your website gets more publicity. Here, you have a couple options. By default, they will mail you a check each month direct to your house using either regular post, or FedEx if you elect to deduct money from your earnings to pay for it. Alternatively, you can sign up to have them simply wire you money straight into your bank account. If your website is making over 10,000 dollars a month, then they send you your money by UPS. STEP 1: Where to Start? First you will need a domain name and a server to host it. If you don't want to pay for the domain name (typically between 6.50 and 8.50 dollars a year) and hosting (between 5 and 10 dollars a month), then you have the option of starting with one of the free hosing websites. See www.free-webhosts.com for a list of some free hosting providers. If you visit it, you'll see this site is also an Adsense financed business as witnessed by all the links to the right. If you are serious enough about this to buy your own hosting for this specific reason, then we recommend Bluehost . We do not receive any commission for referring you to Bluehost, and while many other hosting services do offer affiliate programs, we believe that from a customer service standpoint, as well as value wise, Bluehost is simply one of the best hosting services out there. (We use them). They'll also provide you with a free domain name if you sign up for a year. STEP 2: Getting approved by Google After setting up your hosting account, you will need to make or find a basic webpage that you can use to get accepted into Google's Adsense program. We suggest that for this task you use unique content. You only have to get accepted one time, and after that you can put your ads up on all of your web pages regardless if their hosted on same domain or not. Your unique content can really be anything at all. You can type up a short story, share your thoughts on an issue, or simply take a paper you may have written when you were in school and copy an paste it into an html editor. If you don't have Dreamweaver, a free html editor that works pretty well is NVU and can be found at www.nvu.com/index.php If you throw in a few graphics, this is usually enough to get accepted. As they don't pay you unless you attract visitors, its no loss to them to accept your corny site. Let me stop you right there because I know what your thinking. Your thinking, "I'll just click on the ads on my site a few times a day, not do any other work, and bank." WRONG! Don't do this! For one, its illegal, for two Google has ways of watching you that you can't even fathom. So, don't even think about it or you will quickly lose all opportunity to make money with them.
Total approval process usually occurs within 48 hours of submission. STEP 3: Setting up your real income! Now, the real hard parts are over with. Generally speaking, there are two factors that will determine the amount of your income (for Adsense sites) these are the size of your site, and publicity it receives. Google defines publicity as the number of other sites linking to yours. It is the single most important factor is obtaining a high ranking in the google search directory. First, however, you need a site. You can get started with a free, complete adsense webpage here: www.worldwebtools.com/freeturnkey.php. Every day we hand out a new completely different one for free. (Many of the handout sites also have products they sell, so in fact are often giving away a complete turnkey business) Getting your page setup to work with your adsense account: After you have successfully downloaded your .zip file, you will need to extract it. If you don't have an extraction utility, the best on on the internet can be downloaded from our webpage for free --> Downloads Area If you have Winzip, that will work, however I personally think Quickzip is 1000 times better, and a much smaller program, using much less memory. While your there, if your using Internet Explorer or Netscape, download the Mozilla browser (link appears just under the listing of files). As it was an open source project, its much smaller, faster, and cleaner then the alternatives. Websites That Sell Products: Turnkey website business's almost always fall into one of three catagories. They are: This is by far the most common type of turnkey business found on the internet. There are thousands upon thousands of corny e-book sites, usually just consisting of a page with a fake promise and a graphic. There are also much better made websites that sell software, guides, and other virtual products. A common example is the all famous government grants website. A while back, someone compiled information from government websites into a pdf file and started selling it through a website. He made a lot of money. Consequently, many many other people decided to try the same thing. Now you have many versions of this site out there (probably more then you can count). Even though over done, the package is still make people out there money through good presentation, and aggressive marketing. Setup: Setup on this type of site is generally fairly straight forward. Usually all one is required to do is change a link inside the make payment button to their registered paypal address. Some of the more advanced ones are written in php and come with an administration compenent. On these, all that is required is uploading the whole package, then visiting the administration file in your internet broweser. Usually these can be set up through that. As setup procedures can very based on the specific website look through the file for documentation first. If it doesn't have any, its probably just a matter of changing a paypal link. This type of website is also more and more common as more and more companies offer affiliate programs. Reseller hosting is an example of a turnkey website that can be found all over the internet. Many hosting companies offer an unlimited hosting plan for a certain ammount of money each month. These sites sell individual hosting accounts to other people so that their individual customer base is making them more each month then they are paying for the unlimited hosting account. These types of websites will almost always come with setup documentation as well as where the hosting can be purchased. A less common service based sight will either let people access an online script that will perform a service for them, or let them enter a members area where they can take part in certain activities. An example of one of these is websites that are selling html encryption. Once payment has been made, users can use the automated encryption script encoded into the website. Once again, if there is no documentation generally all you will have to do is change the paypal links and site logo. This kind of website will always come with documentation about who you need to sign up with, how much you get paid for sales, etc.. They are usually larger websites, as they have to encorperate an e-commerce system, so will probably be setup mostly through an administrator panel. STEP 4: PROMOTION PROMOTION PROMOTION Now, you need to get people visiting your websites so that your links get clicked on, and your products get sold. The first thing to do is submit each index.html file that you uploaded to your server to all the major search engines. This can be done either manually, or using a search engine submission tool. We reccomend that you submit your site to Google and Yahoo manually, as they are the most important, and it may have adverse effects on your ranking to use a site submission tool. A free utility to submit your site can be found at: www.submitexpress.com. Google and Yahoo's inclusion request pages can be found by browsing their respective homepages. STEP 5: Make your own content Start generating your own UNIQUE content webpages and uploading them to your server. This is a neverending continual proccess. Hopefully by now you grasp how to include Google ads in webpages. You can turn all your old school papers into Adsense webpages. Look around the internet, you will get other idea's for content. I suggest you vist our Adsense Library for further reading at this stage. |
